Introduced in the transformative 1960s, Willy Breitling’s unconventional line of racing-inspired chronographs captured the era’s freewheeling vibe. Today, the Breitling Top Time collection channels that adrenaline-fueled energy, blending modern-retro design with cutting-edge performance. This Top Time cycling chronograph was inspired by the sport's most beloved champions and fiercest rivals on the bike: Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali, who weren't just champions on two wheels — they were symbols of sportsmanship. The rivals were also each Breitling ambassadors at a time when the maker was the official timekeeper for the sport’s greatest races. The Caliber 01 is equipped with a column-wheel system, the hallmark of high-end mechanical chronograph movements, and a vertical clutch that provides precise and smooth operation. The movement holds its power for approximately 70 hours (versus 38 to 48 hours for standard ebauche movements). Its clever modular design allows for easy cleaning and servicing by giving access to specific caliber areas without the need for a full disassembly.
